Who we are
BrickBreeze is an early-stage personal project based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), the person running BrickBreeze is the "controller" of the information described here. You can reach us with the contact form at the bottom of this page.
What we collect, and why
If you register your interest, only what you type into the form, plus one automatic detail:
- Your email address (required). To tell you once when BrickBreeze is ready to try. We use it for nothing else.
- "I'm a…" (optional). A choice from a short list, so we know who is interested.
- "What would you photograph first?" (optional, up to 140 characters). To learn what people want to build. Please don't put personal details in it.
- Which form you used (the top of the page or the bottom) and the time you registered. Added automatically.
If you use the contact form (below):
- Your email address (required), so we can reply, and, for a request about the information you gave when you registered your interest, so we can match it to the address on the list.
- What it's about (a choice from a short list), so we can handle it properly.
- Your message (up to 2,000 characters). Please don't include anything more personal than you need to.
- The time you sent it. Added automatically.
We don't ask for your name, phone number or address. We don't use cookies, advertising or analytics trackers on this page, and we don't build a profile of you. If you use the light/dark switch, your choice is saved in your own browser (local storage) so the site remembers it; it stays on your device and is never sent to us. The photos and videos on this page are not from visitors.
Our legal basis: for registering your interest, your consent (you choose to, and you can withdraw it at any time, see "Your rights"). For the contact form, our legitimate interest and, for requests about your rights, our legal duty to answer you.
Who holds it
- Supabase, our database provider, stores the interest list and the contact messages. Where in the world the database sits depends on the region chosen when the project was set up; Supabase acts on our instructions as our processor.
- Our web host delivers this page and, like every web host, keeps routine technical logs (such as your IP address and the time of each request) for security and reliability.
We don't sell your information and we don't share it with anyone else. The interest list and the messages are read only by the project owner, through the database provider's dashboard. Visitors to the site can add themselves to the list or send a message, but cannot read, change or delete anything.
How long we keep it
Interest-list information: until you ask us to delete it, or 24 months after you registered, whichever comes first. Contact messages: up to 12 months after we last replied (we may keep a short record that we dealt with a request, so we can show we did).
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you can withdraw your consent whenever you like. Use the contact form below and choose the matching topic, giving the email address you registered with. We'll reply to that address, may ask you to confirm it's you, and act on it, normally within a month. Deleting your interest-list information means you won't get the launch email.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
